COMMUNITY FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTES $660K TO 64 CHARITIES
BARABOO, WISCONSIN; July 30, 2019 – Hungry children, classical music lovers, college-bound students, public art supporters, and local veterans were among the many beneficiaries of grants last year from the Greater Sauk Community Foundation. The 21-year-old Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, today released its annual report for 2018. Numbers to note:
• Assets under management surpassed $6 million for the first time.
• The Foundation now manages more than 70 different charitable funds.
• Administrative costs for 2018 were 2% of net assets, with 98% of assets directly supporting the
Foundation’s mission.
• Total grants distributed in 2018 were $660,000 to 64 different charitable organizations (88% local), plus
more than a dozen scholarships and awards.
• Total donations received in 2018 were $950,000.
• The Foundation has distributed more than $3.8 million in charitable grants and received $8.3 million in
gifts since its founding in 1998.
The Foundation also announced that it collected more than $300,000 in donations for last year’s Sauk County flood victims and received community service awards from the Sauk County Development Corporation and the Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce.
